Heroes

Heroes is a serial saga about people all over the world discovering that they have superpowers and trying to deal with how this change affects their lives. Some of the superheroes who will be introduced to the viewing audience include Peter Petrelli, an almost 30-something male nurse who suspects he might be able to fly, Isaac Mendez, a 28-year-old junkie who has the ability to paint images of the future when he is high, Niki Sanders, a 33-year-old Las Vegas showgirl who does things that are mysteriously connected with mirrors, Hiro Nakamura, a 24-year-old Japanese comic-book geek who literally makes time stand still, D.L. Hawkins, a 31-year-old inmate who can walk through walls, Matt Parkman, a beat cop who can hear other people's thoughts, and Claire Bennet, a 17-year-old cheerleader who defies death at every turn. As the viewing audience is discovering the nature of each hero's powers, the heroes, themselves, are discovering what having superpowers means to them as well as the larger picture of where their superpowers come from. Tune in each week to see how these heroes are drawn together by their common interest of evading the series' antagonist who wants to harvest their super-DNA for himself. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world!

Candice Wilmer

Candice is an illusionist. She creates illusions to change her appearance at will as well as the settings and situations around her. She is capable of creating very complex and realistic illusions -- when she impersonated Sandra Bennet, Noah, her husband, was able to touch, hold, and kiss the illusion, and not break it -- and can hide someone inside them as well as trap them in the illusions. Her handle over her abilities make her cocky and confident, and she has a bit of a sadistic streak with her illusions as well -- when she was helping the company cover up the death of Simone Deveaux, she shows Isaac a vision of Simone riddled with bullet holes to mock him.

Candice was originally born "Betty" and was ostracized in high school for her goth and overweight appearance. When her powers emerged, she at first used them for retaliation, causing boils to appear on the face of one of the popular cheerleaders. Once she realized what she could do, she used them again for retaliation against a jock who had been picking on her only friend, Ren. She showed him a satanic version of his father, belittling him for losing a game, and the fear and trauma he experience from the situation left him in a catatonic state. She then inadvertently set them on the trail that Ren had caused this event, which led to the retaliation by the jocks on her friend, injuring him severly enough to be placed in the hospital. When she went to the hospital to try and apologize, and explain to Ren what had happened and demonstrate her powers, the trauma of what he had just been through, coupled with what he had just seen sent him into shock and he died. Feeling guilty over her friend's death and angered at the lack of empathy by her peers, she created the illusion of a high school apocalypse during the next pep rally. After that, she took on a semi-permanent persona as "Candice," and was never seen in that town again.

She was recruited by the company shortly after that, and has been working for them in improving her powers and abilities. She was assigned to be Noah Bennet's partner in the middle of season 1, and helped bring his betrayal to the company to light. After that assignment was completed, she was given a job working with Mr. Linderman keeping an eye on Micah Sanders, who was crucial to Nathan Petrelli winning the election for Congress in November 2006. Upon finding out that Candice has her son, Niki and Candice face off, with Candice using the illusion of herself as Jessica, but Niki wins the fight, knocking Candice out and sending her back to her most current persona.

After the events of Kirby Plaza, Candice was assigned to take care of a recuperating Sylar by some form of higher management. It is unclear at this point whether or not she is still with the company, and if she isn't, who's payroll she is currently on, but she has now adopted a new persona, "Michelle," in order to escape any suspicion.

Candice in Roanoke

Candice arrives in Roanoke right before Sylar kills her in 203: Kindred. She’s been laying low for the most part, though a few people know she’s there. (A majority of whom aren’t exactly happy about this fact.) She’s mostly been using Michelle’s face to get around inconspicuously, but she’s been in the market for a new look.

Candice in Eden

After the events of 203: Kindred, Candice recuperated in a small Mexican hospital. After the virus was released, she was saved by Adam Monroe, and is now currently working for him in Eden. She tends ot keep to herself, and hang in the shadows, and she still doesn’t really trust anyone, but for the most part, she pulls her own weight and just wants to stay alive, just like everyone else. But she’s not going to sacrifice who she is for that fact.
